The Avengers ‘Experience’

A time I was part of an audience, was the moment the Earth faced a global catastrophe. It was the week of April 25th 2018, where I among countless people experienced an invasion event which threatened the extinction of the human race. Creatures from the vastness of space took it upon themselves to attack the Earth and our greatest heroes stood in their way. I merely a civilian, witnessed firsthand these sequence of events unfold on our very own planet. The invasion and the fighting was felt through the universe, even ending up on the Saturn moon Titan. The results were unfathomable, but the most interesting thing taken from this – is that Thanos is 100% going to cop it in the next movie.
Of course you may be wondering why I dare experienced these horrors in the first place? Put simple, it was the long awaited hype train and continuation of a story in the form of Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1.

Following the events of the movie, the interesting and pleasurable outtakes were represented in how many people actually experienced it together. The comraderie was crazy and various personalities banded together to witness the event unfold. The general population seemingly respected each other, not spoiling what had happened. Another pleasurable outtake was just the optimism and hype towards the continuation of the story, but as for all good things there were negative consequences that followed the experience. One of the negatives of such an amazing experience, was the expectations raised. Sure the first movie was awesome, but would the follow-up be equal or sub par? Would I be left in a paralysed state when all good things come to an end, like a break up? Absolutely. These are a few representations of the negatives of the overall experience, but nevertheless it all came together as one important message.

That message is – no matter who you are or where you come from, there may be some hope for decent movies in the future that everyone can experience and come together with. Expanding on what our lecture conveyed, audiences are vast and a person can be a part of an audience at any time. Whether you’re a newcomer or veteran, no matter the time and place, things like movies can be experienced for the first time as well as 10 years into the future. The devices or platforms we experience things may change, but the overall experiences we take from it is what brings us together. Those experiences make us innately human.
